ABOUT

YESSENIA GUGLIELMI, MA, LPC ACS AWA

As a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2002, my experience allows me the opportunity to better serve you. I have had the chance to work in every level of care in the field. I began my career working with teens at the Youth Enrichment Services Program at Trinitas hospital a school based counseling program working as the lead family therapist. Following my time at the school base center, I worked in the HIV community for several years with Rutgers University and with the Puerto Rican Family Institute.

Working at Rutgers University allowed me the opportunity to work in crisis services, child and adolescent units, school based at Newark high schools. Following my time in Newark, I worked at Saint Clare’s Hospital in Denville, NJ as a Clinical Supervisor in both the Partial Hospital program and Group homes. Working in Morris County allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the services available and network with the many supportive services available. While with Saint Clare’s, I also worked in the outpatient program creating lasting relationships with my colleagues at Saint Clare’s who still refer patients both from the inpatient units and also from Morristown Memorial Hospital's many programs. I work with clients who have ALS, HIV, Crohn’s disease, scarring alopecia, and other auto-immune conditions and illnesses.

My experience and continued education allowed me to receive my ACS certification. As an Approved Clinical Supervisor, I help educate and train new counselors. I am also certified in Reiki level II and use this in my practice as an additional tool to help my clients receive healing. I am an EMDR trained therapist as well as a Certified Health Coach. I'm also currently a doctorate student at Drew University.

I have been married for 20 years and have 2 children. As a wife and mother, I understand many aspects of having a successful marriage and partnership and how to communicate with children during the many challenges of life, as well as how to balance multiple responsibilities.

In 2016, I wrote and published my first book with Story Merchant Books, which received two recognitions from the International Latino Book Awards for best first book and best sci/fi. In my spare time, I continue to work on my series and publish articles for online publications.
